He laughed, breathed in sharply, and nervously laughed some more, trying to work his way through his vows. You see, Shonda and Arthur are already married, so this was really a celebration of their love and a chance to tell each other how they felt in front of all their friends and family. But now that he was here, telling her how much she meant to him, he realized it was harder than he thought it would be. He told her how beautiful she was, how she has helped keep him grounded, how thankful he was that she brought her beautiful daughter Kaylor into his life. And as he laughed through his vows, she knew that he was really trying to keep it all together. That’s how Arthur is. Funny, silly, goofy on the outside, but full of love for her, for Kaylor, for their life together. And as they laughed their way through the rest of the night, surrounded by the ones they love most, Shonda realized it was her that was trying to keep it all together. Already married or not, her dream wedding had been realized, and she felt overwhelmed and thankful for Arthur, for her daughter Kaylor, and for their life together.
Shonda + Arthur- we love you guys, so much. We have been looking forward to this wedding for what feels like FOREVER now. The way you two laugh with each other, and AT each other just made us smile the entire day. Oh and Arthur, I’m a Ravens fan, but you know I will cheer you on in every Bills game. GO #52!! #Dontcrossthemoats!! (To see why that’s Arthur’s slogan, check out this video clip HERE. Congrats! – A

When I asked Shonda for her rings and this is what she handed me, my mouth dropped. And then I was REALLY excited that I had just gotten my 100mm macro in the day before!
Her dress was gorgeous and fit her perfectly- loved the blue heart sewn into the back!
Well hello there handsome groomsmen!
Arthur not only plays for the Bills, but he also played for JMU- so obviously, extra awesome points there.
Shonda, you are absolutely STUNNING.
LOVE
Arthur commissioned his tattoo artist to create custom vans for every member of the bridal party- loved how it tied in his love for tattoos with an awesome added detail!
Shonda’s grandfather passed away just a couple weeks before the wedding, so to honor him they placed his boutonniere with a framed photo of Shonda and her grandfather at the sweetheart table.
The candy bar was an homage to all of Arthur’s favorite candies- loving the JMU colors here!
This was our first time at the MOCA, and the light that pours into the venue was AMAZING for first dance photos.
