“Look at these fish!” A statement that anyone that’s been to the Japenese Gardens at Maymont Park would not find out of the ordinary, as there are many HUGE Koi fish that swim around in the pond. However, on a particular day in March, Colin directed Katie’s attention to the fish as a distraction. You see, while she turned to admire the large fish that were swimming under her in the Pagoda, Colin was fishing (no pun intended) a ring out of his pocket. And not just any ring, but Katie’s great-grandmother’s ring. And when Katie turned around, Colin got down on one knee and asked Katie to make him the luckiest man in the world.
I met Katie + Colin at Maymont on a very busy Sunday afternoon. It was a little tricky dodging the people, but we managed to do okay! These two are planning their wedding for next March, and couldn’t think of a better place to celebrate their engagement then where it all started! I had a great time with these two trekking all over the park, scolding small children for running into our pictures, and yes, admiring the fish. Congrats Katie + Colin! – A
Katie you are stunning!
