Just Awesome Monday | US Open 2012

It’s Monday!  And this means one thing.  The US Open Men’s final match (postponed from yesterday because of the crazy storms on Saturday)!  I watched the men’s quarterfinal match between Novak Djokovic and Juan Martin Del Potro in Flushing Meadows, New York this past Thursday…and it was AMAZING!!!  I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE tennis, so this was pretty much a dream come true.  I attended a US Open match two years ago and decided that it would have to be a yearly tradition.  Unfortunately, I was unable to go last year because of work…so you can imagine my excitement when I realized that I could go this year!  I didn’t bring any super long lenses with me, so I didn’t get any super close-up shots of the players…but then again I was too engrossed in the game to take that many photos anyway.  Seeing the match live in the stadium is completely different than watching it on TV.  Obviously, watching from home you get way better angles and commentary during the match.  But when there are crazy rallies and amazing shots…you can literally FEEL the entire crowd’s excitement.  Plus, it’s nice to be surrounded by a ton of people who love what you love

Arthur Ashe Stadium…the largest outdoor tennis stadium IN THE WORLD.  No big deal.

Waiting for the day match to finish up so that the night match ticket-holders (us) can go in the stadium.

We had no idea until we got there that we would be able to watch a charity exhibition match before the quarterfinals.  It was John McEnroe and Adam Sandler vs Jim Courier and Kevin James.  They were absolutely hilarious!!!

As it got darker, the stadium got fuller.

If it wasn’t for the security guy kicking us out, I am positive we would have been there for hours taking photos of ourselves in the stadium
