A few weeks ago, Ashley posted a “Just Awesome Monday” about staycations (having a mini vacation at home). Today, I’m going to talk about how amazing it was to just STAY IN this weekend. This is the first entire weekend I have had “off” in the longest time. So long that on Saturday it felt like it was Sunday to me and I was all “I have ONE MORE day to do NOTHING tomorrow?!?!?!” Even when we didn’t have any weddings before, I would have to work weekends at my parents’ restaurant. So I literally NEVER had weekends off. If I wasn’t shooting a wedding, then I was at the restaurant. Well, my parents sold their restaurant in May so this was my first entire weekend OFF!!! And what did I do? I did NOTHING. Yeah, yeah I know that sounds really unproductive…but sometimes you just NEED to do nothing. Ashley and I have been super busy with weddings every weekend this month, so I needed time to just do nothing. I slept in, browsed facebook in bed, watched TV, and cuddled with my kitties. And it felt GOOD.
September is going to be a SUPER busy one for us, so this weekend off was absolutely perfect timing. We have weddings every weekend except one, I am going to the US OPEN the one weekend we don’t have a wedding, I am attending a wedding as a guest the day after shooting one, and I am shooting a wedding without Ashley (she’s going to be MOH at her best friend’s wedding!). I am absolutely ready and excited to tackle September thanks to this much-needed weekend of doing nothing
