Just Awesome Monday | Riley Mae is Six!

This post is coming to you guys a little later than normal today but for GOOD reason! I had to shop for Miss Riley’s birthday!!

Yes, I realize this is pathetic and a little sad, but whatever. Riley has been my constant companion for 6 whole years now and I can’t believe it. Her little face is starting to gray but she is still as rambunctious and adorable as ever. I love this dog more than anything in the world and I’m so thankful I picked her out of the litter. She was the runt and tiniest one, but I knew she had to be mine. I still remember holding her in one hand when she was a puppy!! Of course, now she’s only 7lbs so it’s not like I can’t still hold her in one arm but you know what I mean.

It’s hard to believe such a small dog could bring so much happiness into my life, but she has been the one constant in an ever changing and ever evolving girl’s life (aka me). When I have absolutely no way to deal with things except for a good cry, she comes running from the other room, climbs up my chest and gives me a “hug”, then proceeds to try and lick my tears. Her little dances when she’s excited, her little grunts when you rub behind her ears, and the way she curls up into the tiniest of balls under any available blanket (or sweater, or towel, or pillow) are my favorite things about her. She may not even know it’s her birthday, but I want to make sure I celebrate everything this little dog means to me. Happy Birthday Riley!  -A
