Elizabeth + Daniel | Waterside Sheraton, Downtown Norfolk Wedding Photographers

She threw the door to the hotel suite open, squealed in excitement and grabbed us both tightly. Over bubbly and triscuits, she kept sighing and smiling. The day was finally here. It might be a bit later than anticipated, but it was finally here.

Let me take you back to last summer. It was August 26th, 2011, and all eyes were on a girl named Irene. She was making her way up the east coast, threatening every state along the way. And as hard as we tried to not let her win, she barreled through Hampton Roads the night before Lizzy + Daniel’s wedding was scheduled to take place, effectively shutting down any chance of a wedding happening the next day. When faced with the idea of canceling her wedding day, Lizzy was the definition of grace. But instead of canceling, or throwing something together at a later date, Lizzy and Daniel decided they were going to do it big, like they had always planned. So new plans were made. For June 30th, 2012, almost a full year later. And as Lizzy and Daniel got up to thank their family and friends for the support over the last year, Lizzy, and everyone in the room got a little emotional. It was a true testament to the type of people Lizzy and Daniel are, and a true testament to the types of people their friends and families are, to rally behind them, pick them up when the biggest day of their lives fell apart, and put them back together here, a year later, in an amazing celebration of love.

Lizzy + Daniel- thank you guys for allowing us to be there. We were heartbroken for you last year, and SO thankful that we were available on the new date. We truly would not have wanted to be anywhere else on the planet than celebrating with you. We are so happy you finally got to have your dream wedding- you both deserve all the happiness in the world. – A
