Amanda + Jonathan | The Chamberlin Hotel, Hampton, Virginia Wedding Photographers

On June 12th, 2011, Amanda + Jonathan signed some papers. These papers, that they signed under the Gazebo at The Chamberlin Hotel, legally married them. And for the past year, they’ve been sharing a marriage and a life together, though separated sometimes by an entire world.

On August 12th, 2012, Amanda + Jonathan stood in front of their closest friends and family and said some vows. These vows, said on the South Lawn of The Chamberlin Hotel, married them again. This time, with a beautiful dress, and promises made to take care of each other, to continue to support each other’s dreams, and to always remember how they felt in this moment.

Amanda + Jonathan are both in the Air Force, so their relationship and marriage have always been under a time constraint, sprinkled with distance and time apart. Amanda just returned from a deployment in Afghanistan, so this wedding was not just a time to celebrate, but it was a time for her and Jonathan to be together, to revel in each other and to be present with each other. Their time together is limited, and it made me appreciate so much having someone to come home to every night. No matter where their careers take them, they will always find home in each other’s smiles.

Amanda and Jonathan- we are SO happy for you guys. Seeing you two together, seeing the tears and feeling the emotion during your ceremony was awesome. Your genuine love for each other and those around you will always keep you afloat even when you are far apart. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your perfect wedding day. – A

I am obsessed with Amanda’s dress. Mostly because… well… let’s just say you’ll see it again soon ; ).

Amanda’s ring was so sparkly…I could have photographed it for hours!

Following the ceremony, we did some portraits inside the gazebo where Amanda and Jonathan signed their marriage license before…

GAH- so so pretty!

These next two crack me up- check out flower girl Peyton… she’s working the laughing and clapping for this one…

And when I said, “okay model faces..GO”… Miss Peyton WORKED it.

Did we mention there was sushi? Well yeah, there was SUSHI.

Amanda and Jonathan wanted to go back outside for sunset portraits… we LOVE when our couples do this! Especially on a perfect sunset evening like this one!

LOVE. Love love love. The light is so soft and pretty, I adore how it plays off the ruffles in Amanda’s dress.

I’ll end on this note. I usually don’t do silhouettes or post them, but this one is just too daggone pretty not to.
